History
The WPA started with the hiring of a nurse outreach educator in 1984. From there a Board of Directors was formed and the organization applied for its nonprofit status with the IRS. Over the years the organization has grown into one tof the larges Parkinson Associations in the country serving over 10,000 people per year in 5 states.

The Mission of the Wisconsin Parkinson Association is to expand medical professional and public awareness and understanding about Parkinson disease that will lead to maximized support, best individual health care, assistance for caregivers and families, and increased funding for research
