The Washington State Office of Financial Management provides information, fiscal and policy support services for the state governor, legislature and agencies. The office prepares the executive budget proposal and monitors its implementation. It operates an accounting division that maintains state government's central books of accounts, accounting systems and financial databases. The office also oversees statewide personal service contracting activities. It provides estimates of state and local populations, as well as conducts researches on a variety of issues that affect public policies. The Washington State Office of Financial Management additionally operates information services and risk management divisions. It administers a loss prevention review team program.
