One of five public high schools in Spotsylvania County, Riverbend High School serves a population of almost 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12. The school uses block scheduling, where students take four 90-minute classes per day. In 2009, 38-percent of the student body earned a GPA between 3.0 and 3.9. The school offers a number of AP courses, as well as special education programs and a program for gifted children called the Commonwealth Governor's School.
