HistoryDuring the late 70s and early 80s HEST (Health Equipment of South Texas) Fitness Products president and founder Albert Kessler -- along with his wife, Paula -- became heavily-involved in health and fitness. It was then that he realized there were no existing outlets specializing in the sales of fitness equipment that suited his vision of serving consumer needs. HEST Fitness Products began in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1981 when Albert Kessler converted an old Maverick Market Convenience Store into his first store.
