The Myrtle Beach Police Department is housed in Ted. C. Collins Law Enforcement Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The department provides a range of protection and law enforcement services and has more than 240 officers and staff members. Its services include crime prevention, animal control, beach patrol and 911 emergency communication. The department also operates a 48-hour adult and juvenile detention facility at the law enforcement center. Its animal control division enforces state and city laws regarding animal well being and nuisance, as well as responds to various types of animal-related calls, such as continuous barking and cruelty to animals.
