The Department of Environmental Protection works to protect air, land and water from pollution and to provide clean environment for the health and safety of individuals. The department works to reduce air pollution, supports community renewal and revitalization and promotes advanced energy technology. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection administers the Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant. The department also works to protect water quality and prevent pollution. Its Office of Energy & technology Deployment administers several technical assistance and outreach programs. The Department of Environmental Protection is governed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
