The Bethany Christian School is commissioned by the Bethany Orthodox Presbyterian Church and is undertaken to be a ministry of the church to the children of Oxford and the surrounding communities. Bethany Christian School, based in Oxford, Pa., consists of pre-school through eighth grade. It has a reading program where moms, dads and grandparents come to first and second grades and take reading groups for practice reading. Parents also help in the office, with hot lunch, with the parent league and various plays and clubs. The school has an in-house tutor for children who need extra help and the Chester County Intermediate Unit sends a speech therapist and a remedial reading specialist to Bethany to work with children with special needs. Bethany Christian School s sports program consists of volleyball, soccer, boys and girls basketball and track and field events.
