History
I started my private practice in 2013 after graduating PSU's counseling program with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) by the state of Oregon and I have additional training in Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Motivational Interviewing. I find this work immensely meaningful. Simply living is challenging yet I witness people work through hard things with faith that it can be better. I respect and admire this courage.
Specialties
Sometimes it can feel like a long time since we've been happy. Perhaps for you it's been months or years since you felt loved and loving in your relationship, or content in your body, or simply happy in life. How do you get that good feeling back? I can help. I have helped hundreds of people resolve issues of overwhelming anxiety and sadness, and in relationships to rekindle a strong and loving connection. I've helped couples recover from affairs, and others resolve years' worth of conflict or avoidance. With yet others, I've helped them find out who they are and where they're going. Many things are possible. What I do is to watch and listen for the ways that you feel stuck and learn about how you experience the world. We all have a narrative about ourselves: who we are, how love gets expressed, how we tolerate closeness. Often key parts of this narrative are out of our awareness. I help bring focus and understanding so that you can open up this way of being in the world - like a camera aperture - so that the places that have been stuck can expand, and that you are better able to have the life or relationship you want.
