Albuquerque Academy, founded in 1955, is an independent, college preparatory day school offering education to students in grades six through 12. The school s curriculum includes various subjects, such as religious studies, English, mathematics, science, social studies, business technology, and physical and health education. The sports activities offered by the school include volleyball, tennis, softball, basketball, football, hockey and aerobics. It also provides a variety of extracurricular activities, such as painting, graphic designing, ceramics, National Honor Society, and visual and performing arts. The school has a library that has a collection of more than 100,000 books, periodicals, videos and magazines, and provides Internet access and audiovisual equipment to students. It is approved by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. Albuquerque Academy has a more than 300-acre campus located in Albuquerque, N.M.
