Formed in May of 1938, Ozark Border Electric Cooperative delivers electrical power to homes, schools, businesses, churches and farms throughout southeast Missouri and maintains over 5,738 miles of power line. Located in Poplar Bluff with additional offices in four cities, it serves about 37,500 members in 11 southeastern Missouri counties. The cooperative serves areas such as Van Buren, Puxico, Doniphan and Malden. It has a state-of-the-art automated outage reporting system that allows faster notification and response. Ozark Border Electric Cooperative is a recipient of Federal financial assistance from the Rural Utilities Service, an agency of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. The cooperative is a member of the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives and Associated Electric Cooperative Inc.
