The Public Service-Wastewater Division works under the government of Lansing, Mich. It is responsible for the collection, pumping, processing and treatment of the city's wastewater. The division also works in compliance with state pollution control regulations and the National Pollutants Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. The Public Service - Wastewater Division additionally monitors the Combined Sewer Overflow systems. It operates a wastewater treatment plant that has a capacity of treating more than 50 million gallons of wastewater per day. The division maintains a treatment facility under the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit issued by the Environmental Protection Agency and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. The Public Service-Wastewater Division is located in Lansing, Mich.
