The Wastewater Collection and Treatment Division is a part of the Public Works Department, which designs, constructs and maintains street, water, and sanitary and storm sewer systems in the city of Battle Creek in Michigan. The Wastewater Collection and Treatment Division operates and maintains a wastewater treatment plant, more than 100 sanitary sewer lift stations and over 300 miles of sanitary sewer lines. The Public Works Department also designs and maintains parks, as well as offers drinking water treatment services. The department performs environmental investigations and remediation on municipally-owned property. In addition, it manages the public transportation system of the city and maintains a vehicle and heavy-equipment fleet.
