Founded in 1915, Cooperative Elevator Co. is an agricultural cooperative that is owned by more than 950 farmer producers. The cooperative is headquartered in Pigeon, Mich., and operates plants in Bad Axe, Deckerville, Elkton, Fairgrove, Gagetown, Pigeon, Ruth and Sebewaing, Mich. Cooperative Elevator Co. also provides farm inputs to member patrons. These farm supplies include feed, seed, fertilizer, chemicals and petroleum. The cooperative also specializes in the handling, sorting and shipping of food commodities. It harvests various types of grains, such as corn, red and white wheat, soybeans, edible soybeans, oats and barley.
