Billerica House of Correction is a correctional facility that houses various convicted criminals and undertrial detainees. It was built in 1929 and can accommodate more than 1,200 inmates. Billerica House of Correction is a part of The Middlesex Sheriff's Office, which is a law enforcement agency that works to protect the lives and property of residents. The Middlesex Sheriff's Office maintains a youth academy that offers training programs that provide information related to the importance of public safety and fire and emergency response. It also conducts K-9 demonstrations, fire safety house demonstrations, fingerprinting programs, and police and fire department tours.
