The Iowa Department of Economic Development, also known as (IDED), serves individuals, communities and businesses. The department promotes economic development policies and practices to stimulate and sustain Iowa's economic growth that integrates efforts in the public and private sectors. It manages a community development division that offers housing and technical assistance programs. The Iowa Department of Economic Development also provides assistance with the creation and expansion of small businesses. In addition, the department manages a business license information center. It sponsors the Iowa Entrepreneur Network, which serves investors. The department additionally assists companies in developing and expanding international markets. The Iowa Department of Economic Development is governed by the State of Iowa.
