The Vienna Correctional Center is a part of the Illinois Department of Corrections, which is administered by the state of Illinois. It is a level 6 minimum-security facility that houses adult male offenders. The center, founded in 1965, serves the needs of individuals in southern Illinois. The Vienna Correctional Center is a parent facility to the Impact Incarceration, which is a coeducational program that has more than 280 offenders. The center features dining, library, commissary, barbershop and gymnasium facilities, as well as chapels. It has a housing capacity for up to 885 individuals. In addition, the Vienna Correctional Center offers vocational programs that offer education and training in the areas of culinary arts, cosmetology, horticulture, construction management and custodial maintenance.
