History
The Chicago Mosaic School was established in 2005 by international award winning artist Karen Ami. When Ami sought post -graduate educational opportunities in mosaic art, she was surprised to find that the only schools that specialized academically in the mosaic art form were outside of the United States. Ms. Ami invited internationally acclaimed mosaic artists from Europe to teach in her Chicago studio, which grew intoThe Chicago Mosaic School. The school is now a renowned educational arts center that has filled a void in Mosaic Art education in the United States and abroad. The school is in its 17th year as the leader in Mosaic education Our 9400 square foot facility houses our classrooms, offices, library, lecture space, artist studios, kitchen, and the Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics (GoCM).
