The Diagnostic and Development Center, also known as DDC, offers a range of services for individuals between the ages of 3 and 21 with various developmental disabilities. Located in Mattoon, Ill., it provides various skills development services in the areas of self-help, socialization, language, pre-academics, communication and cognition. The center also offers prevocational and interpersonal skills development services. The Diagnostic and Development Center administers the Individual Education Program (IEP), which includes speech, physical, health care and occupational therapy services. Additionally, it provides community-based training and transition services. The Diagnostic and Development Center is operated by EIASE, which is a cooperative agency that was founded in 1962 and serves Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Moultrie and Shelby counties in Illinois.
