Honolulu Community College has been operational for more than 50 years. A part of the University of Hawaii, the college is one of the leading providers of higher education in the United States. Formerly known as Territorial Trade School, it is located in Honolulu, and enrolls more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Approved by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Honolulu Community College is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The college offers a wide variety of courses, such as technical education programs, criminal justice, aeronautics maintenance technology, applied trades, architecture, commercial aviation, communication arts, cosmetology, early childhood education, fashion management, human services, and industrial education. Its special programs include apprenticeship training, continuing education, cooperative education program, motor vehicle certification and in-service training, experimental courses, introduction to college English, and noncredit, service learning and writing intensive courses.
