ASSETS School, established in 1969, is an independent, coeducational K-12 school for gifted and dyslexic children. The school has an enrollment of more than 100 students and offers educational programs to children and young people from 5 to 18 years of age. Located in Honolulu, it provides advanced placement programs in calculus, chemistry and literature. It also awards tuition assistance based on financial needs and a six-week summer program in June and July. The school offers intramural and interscholastic sports programs, as well as a variety of extracurricular activities. ASSETS School is a day school and is supported by income derived from tuition, grants and donations. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. It is a member of the National Association of College Admission Counseling, the National Association for Gifted Children and the National Association of Independent Schools.
