The Naugatuck Valley Community Church, an English-speaking Southern Baptist congregation right in the downtown, shares its space with two other churches: the Portuguese-speaking Igreja Comunidade Batista and the Spanish-speaking Primera Iglesa Batista. While each operate for their specific language communities they all offer similar religious services. The Naugatuck Valley Community Church, lead by Rev. Tim Leggett, is the oldest one of the three having been in operation since 1990. The church provides a number of programs including nursery school, Bible studies, youth groups and missionary programs to Hartford, Vermont and other places.
