San Diego Regional Center serves individuals with development disabilities and is one of the service units of San Diego-Imperial Counties Developmental Services. It is a private, nonprofit organization that contracts with the state of California to provide the services outlined in the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act. The center offers a range of services for children, including day care for preschool children and after-school care for school-age children. It also offers a variety of services for adults, such as transportation, employment and residential support, vocational rehabilitation, and adult day health care and education. In addition, the center provides consultancy services in several areas, including education, psychology, nursing, language, medicine, genetics, physical and occupational therapies, behavior modification and nutrition. It also offers respite care services and is located in Santee, Calif.
