Established in 1972, Mill Valley Middle School is the town's primary middle school and a four-time winner of the California Distinguished School Award. Students from all five of the district's elementary schools attend this school. The school mascot is a panther.

Park School is a small neighborhood school that opened in 1909 in order to accommodate the hundreds of families that relocated to Marin after San Francisco's 1906 earthquake.
