The Lafayette Historical Society was established in 1973 and is housed in the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. The society features historic items such as Elam Brown’s lantern, arrowheads and a restored 1920s Model TT fire truck. Lafayette Historical Society has an archive of nearly 2,000 historical photographs, news clippings, oral histories and documents. Workstations, desks and wireless connectivity are available for researchers. Throughout the year the non-profit organization hosts lectures and outings to local historic sites. The entrance is located on Golden Gate Way.
