This seven-member commission provides advice and recommendations to the Hermosa Beach City Council on how city residents can prepare and respond to emergencies. The group provides, for the City Council, an updated emergency preparedness plan and help with promoting the theme of emergency preparedness to the community. The board also coordinates emergency response volunteers and makes grant applications for emergency preparedness revenues.
Members must be residents of the city and will serve four-year terms. The commission meets regularly in the City Council Chambers at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.
