Founded in 1896, Compton High School serves students from grades nine through 12 and has a student enrollment of more than 2,500. The school curriculum includes a wide range of subjects, such as English, mathematics, physical and health education, science and social sciences. It also provides special education programs, including English language learners, specials education students and honors courses. Its advanced placement coursework includes chemistry, biology, English literature and composition, studio art, and Spanish language and literature. It also promotes community development projects, including civic, social and student volunteer services. The school is located in Compton, Calif., and is part of the Compton Unified School District.
