History
Wellings started business in Evanston with an OK Rubber Welders Store in the early 1960's by Kae and Blain Welling. The Wellings moved their location from downtown Evanston and built a new facility on Bear River Drive. Shortly after the move, they obtained a Ford-Lincoln-Mercury franchise. The franchise bore the name Welling Ford Sales, Inc. and remained owned and operated by the Wellings and their sons until 2003. Following the sale of the Ford franchise, B. Jay Welling, the oldest of the Welling son's, opened a new car lot a few blocks from the old Welling Ford site. This new lot was given the name Welling Auto Depot and RV and has remained family owned and operated until this day. Jay and his family have since moved the dealership back to the old Welling Ford site and continue to provide honest and friendly service to travelers and their local community.
