The Jackson Hole Police Department works to preserve peace and reduce crime through the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws and ordinances. It employs more than 30 sworn and nonsworn officers. The department maintains patrol, administration, investigation, records and victim services units. The Jackson Hole Police Department supports a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. It has a communication center that coordinates responses to police, fire and medical emergencies. The department operates an animal shelter that relocates stray and at-large animals, enforces animal laws, and provides pet adoption and licensing services. The Jackson Hole Police Department offers information regarding child safety and vehicle theft, as well as provides various community education training programs. In addition, it supports Crime Stoppers and vacation house check programs. The department is located in Jackson, Wyo.
