Ryan A. Semerad is a trial attorney and partner at the Fuller & Semerad Law Firm. His primary focus is defending the rights of individuals accused of crimes in Wyoming. Mr. Semerad also represents clients in select civil matters and maintains an appellate practice. Mr. Semerad has represented people and businesses across Wyoming dealing with all manner of criminal offenses and civil claims, from misdemeanors to the most significant and complex felonies, from simple trespass actions to multimillion dollar contract disputes. To Mr. Semerad, every client and each case is deeply important.Mr. Semerad was born and raised in New York's Hudson Valley. He graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, in 2013 with a degree in English and Philosophy. Mr. Semerad attended law school in Columbus, Ohio, at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, graduating in 2016. As a law student, Mr. Semerad volunteered for the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Southern District of Ohio assisting attorneys working on death penalty litigation. Mr. Semerad also served as a judicial extern for Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor of the Ohio Supreme Court during law school.Following law school, Mr. Semerad joined the international law firm Jones Day as an associate in Jones Day's Cleveland, Ohio, office. At Jones Day, Mr. Semerad primarily worked on complex commercial litigation on behalf of institutional clients. After completing a clerkship with the Honorable Michale P. Gibbons, Chief Judge of the Nevada Court of Appeals, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mr. Semerad joined the commercial litigation and appeals group at Holland & Hart LLP.Mr. Semerad and his wife chose to relocate to Casper, Wyoming, in 2020. They decided to relocate to be closer to family (Mr. Semerad's wife was born and raised in Casper) as they started a family of their own. Mr. Semerad joined the renowned law firm of Donald L. Fuller and Associates at that same time. Mr. Semerad became a named partner at the Firm in 2022.Mountain States Super Lawyers Magazine has honored Mr. Semerad annually since 2021. This publication recognizes the top 5% of lawyers in Nevada, Utah, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.Mr. Semerad is a board member of the Casper Recreation Foundation and is the current Secretary/Treasurer for the Criminal Justice Section of the Wyoming State Bar.
