First Christian Church Disciples of Christ is a downtown congregation located in Sheridan, Wyoming. Situated three blocks east of Main Street and the Sheridan County Court House, the church is conveniently positioned behind the Fire Station and across the street from Holy Name School. With over 100 years of friendship shared with Holy Name Catholic Church, First Christian Church welcomes visitors to join their traditional mainstream Protestant worship service, which includes hymns, scripture readings, sermons, prayers, and Holy Communion every Sunday.
Committed to serving the community, First Christian Church engages in various service ministries, including a Thrift Store located in the church's basement, the Lunch Together Soup Kitchen, and Heritage Towers, a HUD facility providing housing for low-income seniors. The church aims to foster true community, deep Christian spirituality, and a passion for justice, guided by their vision to be a faithful and growing church. By proclaiming God's love, teaching a lifestyle attentive to Jesus, nurturing friendships, and serving others, First Christian Church seeks to create an authentic Christian community inspired by the early church.
