The Buffalo Federal Savings and Loan Association, received its charter and insurance on savings accounts in 1936. The bank created a holding company named Crazy Woman Creek Bancorp in 1997 to emphasize a commercial bank format over its original residential real estate lending focus. Consumer, commercial and agricultural opportunities are represented as well as the traditional residential real estate loans. The bank also owns Bank of Gillette, Bank of Sheridan, First Bank of Evansville and Casper in Wyoming. The longstanding outdoor sculptures of a buffalo and mountain men in front of the bank have become community attractions.
