The Thomas A. Greene Geological Museum in Milwaukee, WI houses the fossil and mineral collection of Thomas A. Greene, a prominent amateur geologist from the late 1800s. Greene's collection, which includes over 75,000 specimens primarily from southeastern Wisconsin, features a diverse array of Silurian marine invertebrates and Devonian fossils, as well as a wide range of minerals and ores from North America and overseas. Originally entrusted to Milwaukee-Downer College and now administered by the Department of Geosciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the museum's collection is considered irreplaceable due to the unique quarry outcrops from which the fossils were collected.
