History
University Avenue Discovery Center has been providing a safe, fun and educational place for kids in Madison since 1967. We serve children aged 2 years 9 months through 10 years old and also offer an after school program and a school aged summer camp. We believe in supporting the whole child with a strong emphasis on emotional intelligence and positive guidance. We provide healthy meals incorporating organic locally sourced food, some straight from our own gardens! Our teacher-child ratios are low so that we can adequately support each individual child. Healthy, Hot Lunches A kitchen is used each day to provide the children with hot meals and nutritious snacks! Breakfast and a pm snack are offered and a hot lunch is provided each day in the lunchroom, where the children practice table manners and respect for their fellow diners. Menus for snacks and lunches are posted each week outside the classrooms. Parents are welcome to join their children for lunch; just give us advance notice.
