History
United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) was formed in 1967 by visionary community leaders to support the growth and development of Milwaukee's leading performing arts organizations to assure their financial security and support those organizations that would be performing in the county's new Performing Arts Center (PAC). Member organizations were expected to surrender their individual fundraising prerogatives in support of a single campaign. It was clear from the outset that UPAF had the responsibility of monitoring Member's budgets to ensure that the allocations achieved their purpose of fiscal stability of these groups.
