The Department of Special Education provides academic and enrichment activities for students with development disabilities. The department offers psychological assessment services for children between the ages of 3 and 5. It is administered by the School District of Superior, which is one of the largest educational instituions in Wisconsin. With a staff of more than 740 staff members, the district serves over 4,500 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Its schools offer classes in math, science, English, language arts and social studies. The district s schools provide several athletic activities, such as football, volleyball and cross-country. Additionally, its schools have libraries that maintain a selection of books and reference materials. The district s schools operate parent-teacher organizations.
