History
The Fort Atkinson St. Vincent de Paul Store was opened on November 29, 2007. Since then it has served the needs of more than 2,100 families in the Fort Atkinson area. All of its efforts are handled by more than 100 volunteers and three employees. Located within its doors is the St. Vincent de Paul Ministry, which is funded by proceeds from the store. The Ministry links people to social and health services, food pantries, housing relocation, and Work Force Development. All this is done regardless of a client's race, creed, or gender and only after an initial screening and home visit. Also, since 2005 the Fort Atkinson St. Vincent de Paul has hosted the Second Harvest Food Give-Away, which provides food for over 400 people in our community each month.
