History
In 1982 after hearing a news report about a local company laying off 400 employees, Tom Schiltz, founder of St. Joseph Food Program, asked himself, what would he do if he found himself in the same situation and how could he help those who are currently unemployed...With the help of dear friends and contacts, ST. Joseph Food Program was born! Starting in the basement of St. Joe's Church and moving into the basement of St. Joe's School, the program landed on the MOCA campus in 1996 where we currently reside along with United Way, LEAVEN and the Community Clothes Closet.
