He started his career as a pioneer with Denis Kitchen in Underground Comix with fans like John Lennon and the Beatles following his comix. He had a syndicated comic strip called Smile, produced the very first Concert tee shirts and tour posters for groups like Deep Purple. He became excellent at drawing portraits from life that were more lifelike than photographs. He is also well known for creating some of the best Logos in the world. When Harly-Davidson had their !00th Anniversary, Jim Mitchell created two of their three Logos that year.
