The Eco-Justice Center is operated by the Racine Dominicans and works to create a sustainable relationship with the community and provide environmental education. The group has created an environmentally friendly area through building a green addition to the farmhouse, as well as installing solar hot water, solar electric, and geo-thermal heating and cooling. The center offers tours for groups, as well as ecology camps, birthday parties and educational trips. Some types of sustainable activities at the center include organic gardening, raising of livestock and sharing extra produce with those in need through Racine's North Side Food Pantry. Check its website for details on the center or for information on special tours or events.
