The Jail & Juvenile Detention Center of the Portage County Sheriff's Department offers a range of safety services for the communities. It promotes opportunities for behavioral changes in offenders. The center works in partnership with various service providers and offers inmate care solutions. It provides accurate data and information to the criminal justice system. The Jail & Juvenile Detention Center can accommodate up to 80 adults and 15 juveniles. It also administers the Electronic Monitoring Program. The Portage County Sheriff's Department also administers a dispatch center that offers paging duties for a full-time police department, medical service groups and state agencies.
