History
in the early 1900's this property was part of an immense logging operation. the original building was the cook shanty/mess hall. in approximately 1920 this building burned and the ruins were pushed into the lake. this was acceptable at the time. to this day the lake bottom in front of the lodge is covered with pottery bits and stove parts. please no picking per the DNR. from 1920 to approx 1940 the property was a fish camp. then during the war years and with the addition of a liquor license and cabins a full time resort was established. over the years the resort had several owners and many modifications. we (mike&deb downar) bought the resort in 2007 when it became available and named it moose view lodge and resort cottages. we operate it as an all season resort with the cottages and the lodge serving liquor, beer, and wine. a complete lunch and dinner menu is also served.
