The Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, also known as WSLH, provides clinical, environmental and industrial hygiene analytical services. It specializes in providing reference testing, technical assistance and consulting solutions for private and public health agencies. Operational since 1903, the laboratory serves the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. It offers bioaerosol, environmental toxicology, flow cytometry, inorganic chemistry, proficiency and water microbiology testing services. The laboratory operates a research support center and disease prevention division. Its emergency solutions are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The laboratory operates the School of Cytotechnology and Wisconsin Newborn Screening Laboratory. The Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene is a part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
