History
The history of Komisar Brady & Co., LLP began in 1960 when brothers Bernard (Ben) and Norman Komisar formed a partnership, offering various bookkeeping and accounting services to local businesses. They also offered business and individual income tax services at a time when a tax form had 11 boxes and the IRS code was 300 pages. Komisar & Komisar, CPAs steadily grew through Ben and Norman's hard work and personal commitment to their clients. Norman Komisar fell ill unexpectedly in 1975 and passed away tragically in 1977. Edward Brady joined Ben as a partner in the firm of Komisar, Komisar, Brady & Co. in 1977 and Ben's son William Komisar joined KKB in 1978, and became a partner in 1980. Ben, Ed and Bill transformed the company from a small local CPA firm to a thriving professional services organization by building a team of dedicated accountants and support staff. KKB grew from 10 employees in 1980 to over 30 in 1988 when Ben Komisar retired as managing partner of the firm.
