Established in 1987, Chileda Foundation is an independent board that consists of financial experts, health care providers, social service professionals and educators. It is part of Chileda, a care center for children and young adults with developmental disabilities due to closed head injuries, seizures, behavioral and genetic liabilities, cerebral palsy, autism and physical handicaps. It collects money through private individuals, corporate entities and various organized fundraisers, such as the La Crosse Chileda Classic, Chileda Women's Board Wine Tasting and Silent Auction. Chileda Foundation uses the contributed money to support the costs associated with care, education and treatment programs, including transportation vans, exercise equipment and computers.
