The Sports Club is as close to an old-school supper club as you'll find in Hudson. Owned by the same family since 1957, it features American steak-house fare: prime rib, seafood, steaks, chops, chicken, ribs and a Friday fish fry plus a friendly vibe.
When you enter, you'll step back to when supper clubs were king in the Upper Midwest: a u-shaped bar in the lounge, a starlight chandelier, red-velvet wallpaper and gewgaws like a carved wooden bear, a suit of armor, mounted trophy game and an aquarium with fish probably as old as the place.
Bartenders are schooled at classic cocktails like a Brandy Old-Fashioned before dinner or a Brandy Alexander after. The back dining room in this border-town club is democratically decorated in a Green Bay Packers-Minnesota Vikings motif.
