Dr. Amy James is a board certified palliative physician and medical director for Palliative Care Team at Bellin Health. Her special interests include providing care to patients who have life-limiting illness and ensuring that patients receive expert and compassionate care at all phases of their illness. Bellin Health's Palliative Care Team is an interdisciplinary care and management service specifically designed to provide relief for patients and their families from physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual pain and suffering. This service also provides experts who can assist patients with anxieties over financial and legal concerns. Palliative care can start at the time an illness is diagnosed and is provided along with appropriate medical treatments. Dr. James and her team work to improve the quality of life of patients with cancer, chronic lung disease, heart and liver disease, stroke, dementia, and any life-limiting illness.
