Ace Ethanol, a limited-liability company, was formed by Norman Spooner of Gilman, Wis., and Alexander Samrardzich of Bruce, Wis. The goal of Ace Ethanol is to be the first plant to produce ethanol in the state of Wisconsin. Production started in June 2002, and it is one of the first large-scale ethanol plants in Wisconsin. The company partnered with Delta-T Corporation of Williamsburg, Va., for process engineering and plant design. It is a dry mill facility. Since 2004, the plant has nearly doubled its ethanol production, growing from 8 to 15 million bushels of corn and produce 120,000 gallons of ethanol per day. Distiller s grain, a byproduct of ethanol production, is a high-protein, low-cost feed that can be used in the diets of many animals. Ace Ethanol offers wet distiller s grain with solubles and dry distiller s grain with solubles.
