Wisconsin Public Service Corporation
Public Service started in 1883 as the Oshkosh Gas Light Company and incorporated as Wisconsin Public Service Corporation in 1922. It provides electricity and natural gas to more than 400,000 customers in 24 counties of northeast and central Wisconsin and a part of upper Michigan. The company operates fossil, nuclear and hydroelectric generating plants to produce electricity. Its gas is purchased from gas producers and marketing companies, and the company has a contract with ANR Pipeline Company for transportation of the gas. Wisconsin Public Service Corporation has headquarters in Green Bay, Wis., and 19 district offices throughout the state.
