"The business was started by three men ?Robert C. Smith, H.W. Hair, and Harry Trushel. It was Smith who, years later, gave current owner, Mance Frankovitch, a job. Mance, while still in college, began working in 1971. After college he was offered a full-time job and stayed on. Together, Smith and Frankovitch formed a partnership and bought out the others. They stayed together until 1987 when Smith passed away. Today, Weirton Lumber continues to serve customers throughout the Tri-State area. Although we cater to contractors, the business also serves serious do-it-yourselfers, hobbyists, commercial and industrial accounts. One reason for Weirton Lumber s longevity is our outside sales staff as well as our in-house expertise. The personnel at Weirton Lumber are trained, experienced people whose main job is to help you. Our membership in LMC, the largest independent lumber/building materials buying group in America, enables us to quickly find sources for your hard to find specialty items. In addition to a wide range of building supplies, the company has committed resources providing equipment and manpower to better serve the construction industry. Boom trucks, a custom millwork shop and a kitchen and bath center with computer assisted design are just some of the resources available to better serve the customer. Because of our large inventory, fast and reliable service, and knowledgeable staff, you can be assured that your projects need will be met."
