Parkersburg South High School serves students in grades 9 through 12. In addition to meeting the regular educational needs of students, the school also houses several special education programs that address the needs of students throughout Parkersburg, W.Va. Parkersburg South High School offers a range of advanced placement courses in English literature, calculus, American history, American government, psychology, chemistry, physics, Spanish and studio art. It offers several departments, such as fine arts, social studies, science, vocational, math, English, and health and physical education. Parkersburg South High School operates a special service department for students with special needs. The school also conducts classes in special and vocational education.
